B-birthday? ._.

Well, those of you who are close to me should know that I’m a person who hasn’t celebrated my birthday since I was little. Thus, today, 19th of October was just as insignifcant like any other day. The world goes on, minding its own buisness. Time passes, leaving the minutes and seconds behind.

However, for just that 15 minutes during break, time did stop. For someone actually BOTHERED to celebrate the day this insignificant being was born. A cake and a little present to boot. I must say, I was at a loss of what to say to that person.. Honestly, every bite I took from that cake filled me with melancholy as the past crept back up to me. How I envy those people who has friends and family who bother to celebrate their birthday. Shower them with presents and attention. How much they’re loved by the people around them.

But as for this insignificant being? None.

However, just for that 15 minutes, I felt special.

A new dawn, a new semester and new covers

Okaaaayy. Its been awhile since I’ve updated and people are already naggin’ at me to do so. Where shall we start I wonder…

I guess we’ll start with my new class, W36E. I must say, breaking the ice in this class didn’t turn out to be a chore. Only on the 1st day and the class was filled with laughter. The facilitators were  alright. The cognitive faci has got to by my fave and the least faves would be the physics and maths ones. That’s pretty much my testimony of the class thus far. I hope that all will be smooth sailing just like how it was back in W16B!

Well, to end it up(I know its short!), time to churn out more new covers. This time, its Shell, the opening song from the anime ‘Witch Hunter Robin’ and Waiting for you from the popular horror survival game, ‘Silent Hill’. As usual, all guitar parts are done by me. Cheers and enjoy ^^

Mr Moth, Mr moth

Its been awhile since I last posted so..Here’s something I thought up of to make people laugh and at the same time hope that you, the reader would reflect alittle on your life and what you have been doing with it

On today’s program we’re gonna interview Mr moth.

So, as you know, people think moths are dumb or stupid for being attracted to fire and getting burnt to a crisp. We shall now ask a Moth about what are his views on being stereotyped this way.

Me: Okay, so welcome to this interview. I made sure that this room is pitch black so that you won’t fly over to the nearest heat source or bright light.

Mr Moth: I thank you for that. Wouldn’t want me to burn myself to crisp eh?

Me: Err, yeah. Anyways, like I said earlier, what are your thoughts about humans thinking that you are dumb or stupid for, in simple terms, committing suicide?

Mr Moth: First off all. We’re not stupid or dumb..We are just appreciating beauty where its usually overlooked.

Me: So Moths are either artistic or romantic insects?

Mr Moth: Maybe? The point is, we’re not attempting suicide. We moths have a short lifespan unlike humans. Since we’re going to die early, why not make the best out of it and die WITH beauty rather than staying in the sidelines and dying WITHOUT beauty.

Me: Ah..So that’s something we could learn from moths and that is to be bold and live your life as if you’d die any year, day month, hour or even minute.

Mr Moth: Children, that doesn’t mean you should go around and throw yourselves in the fire or commit suicide.

Me: He’s right. Well, thanks for having you here and telling people of your stand about this whole ‘Moth’s are stupid’ fiasco. And on that bombshell, good night!

The melancholy

Well, things don’t always go your way.
That’s what they say.
But I still can’t help but feel upset.

As people are out there,
I’m cooped here.
Staring out of my window.
As the clouds cast a shadow.

Leave me already
Please?
I’m just asking for happiness.
Is that wrong?

The cafe

Well, it’s been awhile and this post was intended for last week but I procrastinated xD So, yeah, 1 week of E-learning was a pain in the rear and it was all thanks to H1N1. I seriously prefer going to school for lessons then staying at home. Especially since Republic Polytechnic uses the Problem Based learning system. If I hadn’t met up with my classmates for modules such as Philosophy and Programmin, i’d have kicked the bucket at home. So, here’s some pictures on the 2nd last day of E-learning.

I recomended my classmates to do our assignment at this cafe called “Cat-socrates”. And that place is awesome, you get to use their power plugs, there’s awesome imported drinks which you won’t normally see at your local convinience store and a really nice ambience. Plus the owner of the shop is a really nice lady. Other awesome stuff about the cafe would be their vintage items and that you could stay in the store for as long as you want. It’s even written on the entrance that you could go in there to daydream >__<

The walk and the new world

It has been a day. Well, the day started off by me and Syahmee taking bus no. 105 to Far East Plaze. The plan of the day was to get myself a pair of new boots at Timberland. I could’ve gotten em at IMM but I wanted to explore the ones in the heartlands to see if there are different models. So, before me and Syahmee went to find Timberland, we decided to go to to the HMV Orchard to look at the many varieties of singles and albums there. So we then found out that we didn’t know where the Timberland outlet in Orchard was thus we made our way down to Dhoby Ghaut and went to Singapore’s “Mini Akihabara”. Went there to look at some manga. Seems that ‘Short Sunzen’ is not out and ‘Love Attack’ vol 6 is out of stock T_T.

We then went to Raffles City shopping mall to take a look at the Timberland outlet there. It was kinda dissapointing though. Thus we walked to Davis guitar at Peninsula plaza. As usuall, the place was just as crowded as ever. Syahmee asked if he could cancel his order for the ESP Eclipse but they said he needed the reciept, thus he cursed. I grabbed the 2009 catalogue for ESP Guitars and a box of new strings. Hungry, we made a U-turn to Suntec City just to eat at pastamania since we missed the taste of strawberry Italian Soda xD

After that, we took the train and dropped at Buona Vista to go to Holland Village. Home to the new Academy of Rock center. From the myspace pictures, I thought the surroundings was like “budget” but trust me, after setting foot into Holland V, we were both transported to a new world. The roads were narrow, there was a windmill on one of the shophouse roofs and of course the Academy of Rock. It was located above this icecream stall. The best thing is, there was a hell load of good stuff. Subway, 7-Eleven and many more. It reminds me of how Harry Potter first stepped into Diagon Alley. Pity I couldn’t take pictures of the place.

We ended the journey by going back to IMM to get my new boots. After a long day of walking, my legs feel as if there was steam coming out of it like an overheating engine. Other than that, I can’t wait for July 1st. Seriously, I think my days going to the Academy is going to be really interesting.

And so, I end this post with 2 new guitar covers, ‘Endless Rain’ and ‘Forever Love’ by the godfathers of Visual Kei themselves, X-Japan! Note, for ‘Endless Rain’, I only covered the guitar solo but for ‘Forever Love’, I played both guitar parts and solo as well. With that cheers and enjoy ^^

Gives you hell when the wind blows

Contradictory title no? Well, it isn’t something random that I came up with. It’s “Gives you Hell” and “The wind blows” from The All American Rejects new album. And The point of this post is to share my cover of this two songs. Truth be told, I’m kinda amazed at the speed of me learning new songs.

Well some info about the covers:

Gives you Hell: I’m playing both guitar parts thus both left and right speakers would be playing different things.

The wind blows: I’m not playing any electric guitar parts. I covered the song using an acoustic guitar and just playing the chords of the song =D

Well, without further ado, here are the covers~

Curry puffs and Moving along~

Well, the days have been passing by quite slowly. I guess this is how my dad feels when he comes home from overseas. The reason is because of the transaction from a busy and fast-paced lifestyle to a very laid-back life. In RP, time just passes by in a blink of an eye. However, now, during the holidays I feel as if there’s nothing to do. So what did I do? Manga, anime, Sims 3 and guitar (laughs).

Best thing, I’m home alone with granny~ Parents and siblings are off to ANOTHER Malaysia trip. Sigh. I finally found the cause of why we’re not able to go further abroad.

Me: Dad, why can’t you guys like stop going to Malaysia everytime you come back?
Dad: Cos your little sister wants to go swimming
Me: Can’t she go to sentosa or the beach?! Why can’t we save money now so that we can go further abroad?
(Silence)
Dad: That’s because your sister doesn’t want to ride the aeroplane
Me: *Epic Facepalm*

Yeah, so that’s basically it. Say goodbye to Germany, Japan and England. Well, seeing the need to add more stuff to do, me and granny made curry puffs! A good time to bond and spend more time with granny xD Rolling up the dough and all reminds me of playing with plasticine when I was a kid. Though I won’t imagine that right now as I don’t wanna feel as if I’m eating plasticine later *shudders*

Anywhoo, that’s basically it. My 1st week of holidays is done and 1 more week left. I shall end this post with another cover of Move Along by The All American Rejects (Which was fun to play I must say)

The songs and the class

First up, this song goes up to all the people who’ll feel guilty after understanding the message I’m conveying. Yes, if anyone of you feel guilty to the message I’m conveying, then, yeah.

Running away – Hoobastank

I don’t want you, to give it all up
And leave your own life, collecting dust
And I don’t want you, to feel sorry for me
You never gave us, a chance to be

And I don’t need you, to be by my side
To tell me, that everything’s alright
I just wanted you, to tell me the truth
You know I’d do that for you

So why are you running away?
Why are you running away?

Cause I did enough, to show you that I
Was willing to give, and sacrifice
And I was the one, who was lifting you up
When you thought your life has had enough

And when I get close, you turn away
There’s nothing that I can do or say
So now I need you, to tell me the truth
You know I’d do that for you
So why are you running away?
Why are you running away?

Is it me, is it you? (is it me, is it you)
Nothing that, I can do (nothing that, I can do)
To make you, change your mind (to make you)

Is it me, is it you? (so why do – you run – away)
Nothing that, I can do (won’t you tell me)
Is it a, waste of time? (why do – you run – away)

Is it me, is it you?
Nothing that, I can do
To make you, change your mind – no
So why are you running away?
Why are you running away? (what is it, I have to say)
So why are you running away? (to make you admit, you’re afraid)
Why are you running away?

Well that’s end of part one.  Up next, pics of my classmates! Yeah, you guys are a bunch of awesome people! Thanks for making everyday such a joy to look forward to no matter how tough the problem situations the facilitator gives us (laughs).

Well, to end it off, two more covers from me. The Reason by Hoobastank and Know your enemy by Green Day. Peace out~

I had a Loovee-ly evening!

And naw, that spelling aint an error nor was it intentional. It’s the title for the Esplanade’s ourdoor stage programme which is called “A Looveely weekend”, where they brought in one of Japan’s most sought after indie bands called, “Loovee” (pronounced as luu-vee). Formed in 2003, the band has been playing at Yoyogi park Tokyo since 2006. It was the first time thay they’ve ever performed outside of Japan. And we(Singapore), get to witness them 1st hand, FOR FREE!. They’re a nine piece band and trust me they were awesome.

They are the 1st band ever to make me stand up from my seat to jump, dance and grove to the music. Especially when they performed YMCA for us. Like whenever that song is being played, one would know the YMCA action. Thus the whole crowd got up to sing and danced to the song. Their stage precense was awesome. Though they couldn’t speak english, they managed to relay their enthusiasm and music to us. Basically, they’ve trenscended the language barrier.
Oh, I forgot to mention, THE GUITARIST DID TEETH GUITAR! It’s a move where one plays the notes using his teeth/mouth. I was awestrucked! Anyways, here’s the video where the band was covering an old song called “Relight my fire” by a British band called Take that and also when the guitarist did that awesome move. Cheers and enjoy =D
